1. About These Terms
These Terms & Conditions govern your use of carolinadeckco.com, its forms and deck calculator, and related communications with Carolina Deck Co. (“Carolina Deck Co.,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the website or submitting information, you agree to these terms. Website content is general information and is not professional design, engineering, code, or legal advice.
2. Estimates, Consultations and Final Agreements
Website information, calculator results, telephone discussions, and preliminary estimates are planning tools only. They are not offers, binding quotes, or construction contracts. A site consultation and field verification may be required to confirm measurements, access, existing conditions, materials, code requirements, and scope. Work begins only after the parties approve and execute the applicable proposal or construction agreement and satisfy any stated prerequisites.
3. Scope, Pricing and Payment
The executed proposal or construction agreement will describe the work, price, allowances, payment schedule, and material selections. Customers are responsible for deposits, progress payments, final payments, and approved additional charges as stated in that agreement. Unless expressly included, work or materials outside the written scope are not included.
4. Changes and Additional Work
Customer-requested revisions, added work, upgraded materials, or changes required by discovered conditions may affect price and schedule. Material changes should be documented and approved through a written change order or other clear written authorization before the additional work proceeds, except where immediate protective action is reasonably necessary.
5. Existing and Unforeseen Conditions
Deck demolition or construction may reveal concealed deterioration, inadequate framing or footings, pests, utilities, unsuitable soil, drainage concerns, code issues, or other conditions that could not reasonably be confirmed beforehand. Carolina Deck Co. will communicate material discoveries and recommended next steps. Corrective or additional work outside the original scope may require customer approval, additional cost, and schedule adjustments.
6. Property Access and Customer Information
The customer will provide reasonable access to the work area during agreed working hours and disclose known hazards, private utilities, irrigation, septic components, property restrictions, and other relevant information. Pets, vehicles, personal property, and occupants should be kept safely away from active work areas. The customer is responsible for the accuracy of information supplied about ownership, property boundaries, utilities, and project requirements.
7. Permits, Inspections and HOA Requirements
Responsibility for permits, inspections, surveys, engineering, and code-related documentation will be identified in the project agreement. Customers must disclose applicable homeowner-association or architectural-review requirements and obtain approvals assigned to them. Governmental, utility, engineering, and HOA decisions or timelines are outside Carolina Deck Co.'s control.
8. Materials and Product Characteristics
Availability, lead times, colors, and product specifications may change. If a specified material becomes unavailable, we will communicate reasonable alternatives and obtain appropriate customer approval before a material substitution that meaningfully changes the project. Wood and other building products naturally vary in color, grain, texture, moisture response, checking, cracking, shrinking, swelling, twisting, fading, and weathering. These natural or manufacturer-described characteristics are not necessarily workmanship defects.
Product warranties on decking, railing, fasteners, coatings, and other manufactured items are provided by their manufacturers and remain subject to their own terms, exclusions, registration requirements, and claim procedures.
9. Scheduling and Delays
Schedules are good-faith projections and may change because of weather, unsafe site conditions, material availability, permitting, inspections, utility coordination, approved changes, labor or transportation disruptions, and other circumstances reasonably outside Carolina Deck Co.'s control. We will communicate material schedule changes when practical.
10. Site Conditions and Maintenance
Unless specifically included in the contracted scope, Carolina Deck Co. does not assume responsibility for existing drainage, grading, erosion, settlement, landscaping, or conditions outside the work area. Customers are responsible for normal cleaning and maintenance, including staining or sealing wood products when appropriate, maintaining drainage, and following manufacturer care instructions.
11. Work by Others
Carolina Deck Co. is not responsible for damage, defects, or changes caused by other contractors, homeowners, occupants, movers, landscapers, utility providers, or other third parties, or by later modifications or repairs not performed or authorized by Carolina Deck Co.
12. Cancellation and Termination
Project cancellation and termination rights, responsibilities, and any applicable charges are governed by the executed project agreement and applicable law. Website inquiries may be withdrawn at any time, but stopping communications does not cancel an executed construction agreement.
13. Workmanship Warranty
Eligible contracted work is subject to the separately published Carolina Deck Co. 1-Year Workmanship Warranty and any warranty terms in the executed agreement. Manufacturer warranties are separate from Carolina Deck Co.'s workmanship warranty.
14. Website and Contact Forms
You agree to provide accurate information and not misuse the website, interfere with its operation, or submit unlawful or deceptive material. We may update website content and these terms as operations change. Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.
15. Electronic Communications
When you contact us electronically, you consent to receive responsive emails, calls, and other communications related to your inquiry or customer relationship. Electronic communications have inherent delivery and security limitations; please avoid sending highly sensitive information through ordinary website forms or email.
16. SMS/Text Messaging Terms
Carolina Deck Co. sends text messages only to people who affirmatively opt in or where another lawful basis applies. Messages may concern an estimate or consultation request, appointment scheduling, project-related updates, or customer service. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help. Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of purchasing services. Opting out of texts does not prevent us from responding through another method you provide.
We do not use an opt-in for unrelated third-party marketing. Your carrier is not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages.
