OUR COMMITMENT

Carolina Deck Co. 1-Year Workmanship Warranty

Clear, reassuring workmanship coverage for eligible contracted deck work completed by Carolina Deck Co.

Effective date: August 13, 2026

Our commitment: Carolina Deck Co. stands behind the quality of its workmanship. If a covered workmanship issue appears during the warranty period, let us know so we can evaluate it and, when covered, make it right.

1. Warranty Period

Carolina Deck Co. warrants its contracted workmanship for one (1) year beginning on the date of substantial completion of the contracted work. “Substantial completion” generally means the contracted work is sufficiently complete for its intended use, subject to minor punch-list items.

2. What This Warranty Covers

This warranty covers defects directly caused by Carolina Deck Co.'s workmanship or improper installation that become apparent and are reported within the one-year warranty period. When a reported condition is covered, Carolina Deck Co. will determine a reasonable corrective approach and repair or correct the affected workmanship at no charge for the covered work.

3. Manufacturer Warranties Are Separate

Decking, railing, fasteners, lighting, coatings, and other manufactured products may carry warranties from their manufacturers. Those warranties are separate from this workmanship warranty and remain subject to each manufacturer's terms, exclusions, registration requirements, and claim procedures. A product defect is not automatically a Carolina Deck Co. workmanship defect, but we will reasonably assist the customer in identifying the appropriate next step.

4. Conditions Not Caused by Our Workmanship

This warranty does not cover conditions that are not caused by Carolina Deck Co.'s workmanship, including:

  • Normal wear, aging, and weathering.
  • Normal checking, cracking, shrinking, swelling, twisting, warping, splintering, or other natural characteristics of lumber.
  • Natural color or grain variation, fading, staining, or color change.
  • Normal expansion and contraction of building materials.
  • Improper cleaning or maintenance, or failure to stain, seal, or maintain wood products when appropriate.
  • Abuse, misuse, neglect, overloading, or use inconsistent with the deck's intended purpose.
  • Alterations, repairs, attachments, or work performed by others.
  • Damage caused by homeowners, occupants, other contractors, movers, landscapers, utilities, or other third parties.
  • Manufacturer or product defects covered, if at all, by the product manufacturer.
  • Ground movement, settlement, or soil conditions not caused by Carolina Deck Co.'s workmanship.
  • Drainage, erosion, grading, moisture, or water conditions outside Carolina Deck Co.'s contracted scope.
  • Severe weather, wind, storms, lightning, flooding, fire, falling trees or limbs, vehicle impact, or other events outside our reasonable control.
  • Pest, animal, fungal, or insect damage not attributable to Carolina Deck Co.'s workmanship.
  • Concealed existing conditions or defects in work or structures not installed by Carolina Deck Co., unless correction was expressly included in the contracted scope.

5. Customer Responsibilities

Customers should follow reasonable care instructions and manufacturer maintenance guidance, keep drainage paths clear, promptly address leaks or moisture conditions, avoid unapproved structural alterations, and take reasonable steps to prevent further damage after discovering a potential issue.

6. How to Request Warranty Service

Call Carolina Deck Co. at 980-998-9869 or submit the contact form at carolinadeckco.com. Please provide your name, project address, a description of the concern, when it first appeared, and clear photographs if available. Report potential covered issues promptly and within the warranty period.

We will review the request, may ask for additional information, and will arrange a reasonable inspection when needed. Please allow access to the affected area. If the condition is covered, we will explain the planned correction and coordinate service. If it is not covered, we will explain why and, when practical, discuss other options.

7. Relationship to Your Project Agreement

This page provides Carolina Deck Co.'s general one-year workmanship warranty. The executed project proposal or construction agreement may contain project-specific warranty terms and controls if there is a conflict, to the extent permitted by applicable law. Nothing here limits rights that cannot lawfully be limited.
